“The Art Gallery”
The Sozopol Art Gallery was established in 1991. The permanent exhibition is housed in the “Old School” building – an architectural monument of culture. The permanent exhibition is spread over two floors and includes more than 300 works – paintings, graphics and sculptures by famous Bulgarian and foreign artists. Remarkable is the collection of paintings by Prof. Alexander Mutafov – one of the first Bulgarian marine painters. The works of Sozopol artists Yani Hrisopulos and Peter Katerkov are exhibited in a separate hall.
Contemporary, world renown, Bulgarian artists are also exhibited. The gallery organizes a plein air for sculpture and annual, international plein air for marine painters.
